The Universal Credit Cost of Living Payment for 2023 was paid in three instalments:
- The first payment of £301 was paid between 25 April and 17 May 2023.
- The second payment of £300 was paid between 31 October and 19 November 2023.
- The third payment of £299 was paid between 6 February and 22 February 2024.
Eligibility for each payment depended on receiving Universal Credit in assessment periods that ended within specific dates in 2023:
- For the first payment, assessment period ending between 26 January and 25 February 2023.
- For the second payment, assessment period ending between 18 August and 17 September 2023.
- For the third payment, assessment period ending between 13 November and 12 December 2023.
The payments were made automatically to eligible recipients in line with their usual benefit payment method.
