Typhoon Ragasa, also known as Super Typhoon Nando in the Philippines, originated north of Yap on September 17, 2025. It tracked generally west- northwestward, intensifying rapidly into a violent Category 5-equivalent super typhoon by September 22. Ragasa made landfall on Panuitan Island in Calayan, Cagayan, Northern Luzon, Philippines, then moved northwest, passing south of Hong Kong before making subsequent landfalls in southern China, including Hailing Island in Guangdong Province and later Beihai in Guangxi. The typhoon continued westward into Vietnam as a tropical depression. The overall path of Typhoon Ragasa was from the western Pacific near Micronesia, northwest across the northern Philippines, toward Taiwan and then further west into southern China, affecting Hong Kong and Macau along the way, before weakening as it entered Vietnam.
