The fibrous tunic of the eye is composed of two parts:
- Sclera : This is the opaque, white part of the eye that forms the posterior five-sixths of the fibrous tunic. It provides protection, maintains the shape of the eyeball, and serves as the attachment point for the eye muscles that control eye movement.
- Cornea : This is the transparent, dome-shaped anterior sixth of the fibrous tunic. It acts as the eye's "window," allowing light to enter and contributing significantly to the eye's focusing power.
Together, the sclera and cornea form the outermost layer of the eye, known as the fibrous tunic
