Lord Krishna's teacher was the sage Sandipani (also spelled Sāndīpani). Sandipani was the guru who educated Krishna and his brother Balarama in various disciplines including the Vedas, astronomy, archery, medicine, and other arts. According to the Bhagavata Purana, after completing their studies, Krishna and Balarama offered their guru-dakshina (a traditional honorarium) by fulfilling Sandipani's request to bring back his lost son, who had disappeared in the ocean. Krishna successfully rescued and restored Sandipani's son, demonstrating his divine powers
. In addition to Sandipani, Krishna had other spiritual teachers at different stages, such as Garga Muni who initiated him into the Gayatri Mantra, and Lord Shiva from whom he received certain mantras
. However, Sandipani is primarily recognized as his main guru during his formative years. Thus, Sandipani Muni is regarded as the principal teacher of Lord Krishna during his youth and education.
