To turn on the flashlight in Starfield:
- On PC, hold down the F key to toggle the flashlight on or off. Simply pressing F will activate the scanner, so you need to hold it to use the flashlight
- On Xbox controller, hold down the LB (left bumper) button to toggle the flashlight on or off
Note that the flashlight is not available in all areas of the game
. If you want to change the keybinding for the flashlight, you can do so in the Settings menu under Bindings by locating "Hand Scanner/Flashlight" and assigning a different key or button
. In summary, holding F on PC or holding LB on Xbox controller will turn your flashlight on and off in Starfield.
