Stacey Kananen is a survivor of horrific childhood abuse and family tragedy involving the murder of both her parents. Her brother, Richard Kananen Jr., killed their mother Marilyn in 2003 and their father Richard Sr. in 1988. Richard Jr. initially took full responsibility and served 30 years in prison, later accusing Stacey of being involved in the crimes. Stacey went on trial for her life in 2010, accused of helping her brother kill their mother and bury her body in their backyard. Despite the accusations, Stacey was found not guilty. Her story is one of surviving extreme abuse by her father, who was violent and abusive to the family, and dealing with betrayal and legal battles after the murders. Stacey has since become an advocate against child abuse, sharing her story in a book titled "Fear of Our Father" and aiming to create change in how abuse cases are handled and provide support to abuse survivors. She plans to establish a foundation in honor of her mother to combat domestic violence and abuse.
