Ragnarok is a Norwegian fantasy drama TV series on Netflix that reimagines Norse mythology in a modern setting. The story is set in the fictional Norwegian town of Edda, which suffers from climate change and industrial pollution caused by the Jutul family, who are actually supernatural beings known as jötnar (Giants). The main character, Magne, discovers he is the reincarnation of Thor and begins fighting against the destructive Jutuls. The series started in January 2020, with two more seasons following, the third and final season released in August 2023. The show blends mythology with contemporary issues like environmentalism and teenage life, and features a twist ending that reveals much of the supernatural elements are from Magne's imagination, while his actions against pollution are real.
