The season 1 finale of IT: Welcome to Derry is airing as a regular HBO/Max premiere and is also available via partner platforms in some regions. Here is how to watch it depending on where you are.
US (HBO and Max)
The season finale (episode 8) premieres Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO for cable and satellite viewers. At the same time, it becomes available to stream on Max (formerly HBO Max), with all previous episodes already on the service for catching up.
To watch, you need either:
- An HBO subscription through your TV provider, then tune to HBO at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
- A Max subscription (any tier) and start streaming the finale from the Max app or website once it goes live at 9 p.m. ET.
Global release times
The finale drops simultaneously worldwide, so local times differ from the US broadcast. Reported approximate release times include GMT 2:00 a.m., CEST 3:00 a.m., IST 7:30 a.m., JST 11:00 a.m., and AET 1:00 p.m. on the following day. In all these regions, it is tied to the Max/HBO schedule, so check Max or the local HBO-branded service at those times.
UK and Ireland (Sky / NOW)
In the UK, IT: Welcome to Derry airs on Sky Atlantic and streams on NOW, with the finale scheduled as episode 8 on December 14, 2025. Existing Sky customers keep access through Sky Atlantic and on-demand, and also get bundled access to the HBO Max app at no extra cost when that app launches on the platform.
To watch in the UK or Ireland:
- Tune into Sky Atlantic at the scheduled local time on December 14 for the finale.
- Or use Sky on-demand / NOW Entertainment membership to stream the episode once it is added on that date.
Other streaming options and tips
Some regions list the show in local HBO-partner catalogs or on services like Hulu as an add-on that passes through to HBO/Max. In those cases, subscribing to the HBO or Max add-on within that service gives access to the finale along with the earlier episodes.
If unsure:
- Search within your local TV provider or streaming app for “IT: Welcome to Derry” and check the listed channel (HBO/Sky Atlantic/etc.) and time for episode 8.
- Verify that your plan includes HBO/Max (or the regional equivalent) before the premiere so you can watch live or on-demand as soon as it drops.
