To unmute notes from someone on Instagram, you have two main methods:
Method 1: From the Person’s Profile
- Go to the Instagram profile of the person whose notes you want to unmute.
- Tap the Following button near the top of their profile.
- Select Mute from the menu that appears.
- Toggle off the switch next to Notes to unmute their notes.
- If you also muted notes on their posts and reels, you can toggle off Notes on posts and reels as well.
This will allow you to start seeing their notes again in your Instagram Direct Messages
Method 2: From Instagram Settings (Bulk Unmute)
- Open Instagram and go to your profile.
- Tap the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top right corner.
- Select Settings and privacy.
- Tap Muted accounts under the “What you see” section.
- You will see a list of accounts you have muted. Tap Unmute next to the accounts you want to unmute.
- Turn off the Mute notes toggle for each account to unmute their notes.
This method is useful if you want to unmute notes from multiple accounts at once without searching for each profile
Additional Notes
- Instagram does not notify users when you mute or unmute their notes.
- If you unmute someone but still don’t see their notes, it may be because they haven’t posted any recently
In summary, the quickest way is to visit the person’s profile, tap Following > Mute, and turn off the Notes toggle. Alternatively, use the settings to manage muted accounts in bulk
