To turn off your active status on Instagram and hide when you are online, follow these steps:
- Open the Instagram app and go to your profile by tapping your profile icon in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top right corner to open the settings menu.
- Select Settings and privacy.
- Scroll down to the section labeled How others can interact with you and tap on Messages and story replies.
- Tap on Show activity status.
- Toggle off the switch next to Show your activity status. When the toggle is off, it will be grayed out and positioned to the left.
Once turned off, other users will no longer see when you are active or were last active on Instagram. Note that when you disable your activity status, you also will not be able to see the activity status of other users
. This setting works the same on both mobile and desktop versions of Instagram. If you want to turn the status back on, simply follow the same steps and toggle the switch back on.
