To turn off profile views on TikTok and prevent others from seeing when you view their profiles (and vice versa), follow these steps:
- Open the TikTok app and tap on your Profile icon at the bottom right corner.
- Tap the three-line menu (or three dots) at the top right to open Settings and Privacy.
- Select Privacy.
- Tap on Profile views (marked by a footprint icon).
- Toggle off the Profile view history setting.
This will disable the feature, so neither you nor others can see profile visit notifications
. Alternatively, you can also turn off profile views from your Inbox :
- Tap Inbox at the bottom.
- Open a notification about profile views or tap Profile views.
- Tap the Settings icon at the top right.
- Toggle off Profile view history
Important notes:
- The profile view history is kept for 30 days. Turning off the feature stops new views from being recorded, but existing view history remains visible until it naturally expires after 30 days
- When you turn off profile views, you also lose the ability to see who viewed your profile.
- This setting is off by default for new users
