To tell if someone blocked your number, look for these main signs:
- When you call, the call may go to voicemail very quickly, often after just one ring or no ringing at all. Unlike a normal call that rings several times before voicemail, a blocked number is often redirected faster without notification. If you leave a voicemail, it might not reach the recipient's inbox but be sorted elsewhere depending on their phone setup.
- When you send a text message on iPhone, you will no longer see "Delivered" or "Read" receipts below your message if you are blocked. Instead, there is just a blank space. This clue is less reliable on Android, as delivery receipts vary by device and carrier.
- Trying to call from another phone or hiding your number (using *67) to call can help confirm a block. If those calls go through normally, it's likely you've been blocked on your original number.
- Sometimes a prerecorded message such as "number is unavailable" may play, indicating a block.
Keep in mind that these signs are not definitive proof because other factors like phone settings (Do Not Disturb), network issues, or the person turning off their phone can cause similar effects. But consistent occurrence of these signs over time is a strong indication that your number has been blocked.
