To take the SIM card out of an iPhone, follow these steps:
- Power off your iPhone (recommended for safety, though not always necessary).
- Locate the SIM card tray on the side of your iPhone. On most recent iPhones, it is on the right side near the Sleep/Wake button; on some models like the iPhone 12, it may be on the left lower edge.
- Use a SIM eject tool or a small paperclip : Insert the tool into the small pinhole next to the SIM tray. Push gently but firmly straight in until the tray pops out.
- Pull the SIM tray out carefully with your fingers.
- Remove the SIM card from the tray by lifting it out.
- To reinsert or insert a new SIM card, place the SIM card in the tray with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned properly, then slide the tray back into the slot until it clicks.
Avoid using excessive force to prevent damage to the tray or phone
