To sign out of a Google account, the general method is to click or tap your profile icon in the top right corner of any Google page or app and then choose "Sign out" from the menu. Here are the steps for different devices:
On Desktop (Browser)
- Go to google.com or any Google service like Gmail.
- Click your profile icon in the top right corner.
- Select "Sign out".
This signs out the Google account on that browser and device.
On Mobile Browsers
- Open Google in your mobile browser.
- Tap your profile icon at the top right.
- Tap "Sign out" in the drop-down menu.
This signs out your account from the mobile browser.
On Android Devices (Gmail or Google Apps)
You cannot simply "sign out" from Google on Android apps. Instead:
- Open the Gmail app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Tap "Manage accounts on this device".
- Select the account you want to sign out of.
- Tap "Remove account" to sign out from the device.
Note that removing the account here only removes it from the device, not deletes it.
On iPhone (Google Apps or Browser)
Signing out via browser is similar to desktop/moble browsers: tap your profile icon and select "Sign out". Signing out from Google apps may require removing account access as done on Android. This covers the primary ways for signing out of Google accounts on different platforms.
