To set the draft order in Yahoo Fantasy Football, follow these steps as the league commissioner:

  1. Finalize the Team List
    • Go to the commissioner settings of your league.
    • Navigate to the Draft & Keeper tab.
    • Click Finalize Team List to lock in all participating teams. This step is necessary before changing the draft order and no new managers can join afterward
  1. Access Draft Order Settings
    • From the Yahoo Fantasy homepage, select your sport (Football).
    • Click the Commissioner tab at the top.
    • Go to the Draft & Keeper tab.
    • Click on Edit Draft Order & Assign Keeper Players
  1. Set Custom Draft Order
    • Choose Custom Order.
    • Manually drag and drop the team names to arrange them in your desired draft order.
    • Select the draft round rotation type:
      • Snaking (the draft order reverses each round) or
      • Non-Snaking (the order stays the same every round)
  1. Finalize and Save
    • After setting the order, click Continue to customize rounds if needed or Done to finish.
    • Confirm and save your changes. The draft order will now be set for your league

Additional Notes:

  • This process must be done on the Yahoo Fantasy website; it cannot be completed via the mobile app
  • Once finalized, the draft order cannot be changed unless you unlock the team list again, which may have restrictions
  • You can also assign keeper players during this process if your league uses keepers

This method gives the commissioner full control over the draft order, allowing for a fair or strategic setup before the draft begins. References:
