To see the map feature on Instagram, first make sure your Instagram app is updated to the latest version. Then, open Instagram and go to your Direct Messages (DMs) inbox. At the top of your messages inbox, you will find a new "Map" option if the feature is available to you. Tap on this "Map" to open it. Instagram Map allows you to see your friends' locations if they have chosen to share them with you, as well as discover location-based Stories and Reels. You can control who sees your location or choose to keep it private. Location sharing and this map feature are off by default and require your explicit opt- in to activate.
