To reset an Apple TV remote (Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote), press and hold the TV/Control Center button and the Volume Down button at the same time for about 5 seconds until the status light on your Apple TV turns off and on again. Then release the buttons and wait 5 to 10 seconds for a "Remote Disconnected" notification to appear on your TV screen. The remote will restart, and when the "Remote Connected" notification appears, the remote is reset and ready to use again.
Additional Tips:
- Make sure the remote is within 3 to 4 inches of the Apple TV during pairing.
- If resetting does not solve the issue, try pairing the remote again by holding the Menu (or Back) and Volume Up button for 2 seconds.
- Charge the remote for 30 minutes if it becomes unresponsive.
This method works for Apple TV 4K and the newer Apple TV HD models.
