There are several ways to repost Instagram Reels, depending on whether you want to share them to your Story, Feed, or outside Instagram:
- Repost a Reel to Your Story:
- Open Instagram and find the Reel you want to repost.
- Tap the paper plane "Share" icon below the Reel.
- Select "Add Reel to Your Story."
- Customize the Story with text, stickers, or links as desired.
- Post it. The original creator gets credit, and the Story is visible for 24 hours.
- Instagram automatically plays only 15 seconds of the Reel in the Story, but there is a "Watch Full Reel" link for longer videos.
- Repost a Reel to Your Feed:
- Instagram currently doesn't have a direct repost button for Reels to your Feed.
- You can download the Reel (if the creator allows) by tapping the three dots and selecting "Save" or using third-party apps like Repost for Instagram.
- After downloading, upload it as a video to your Feed.
- Always give credit to the original creator by tagging them in your post caption.
- Use Instagram's Built-in Repost Feature (New in 2025):
- Update your Instagram app to the latest version.
- In your home feed or Reels tab, look for the repost icon (near like, comment, and share buttons).
- Tap the repost icon to share the Reel or post to your followers' feeds.
- You can add comments to your repost.
- Your profile will have a Repost tab showing all your reposted content.
- Share Reel Link Outside Instagram:
- Tap the "Share" icon on the Reel.
- Select "Copy Link."
- Paste the link anywhere outside Instagram, such as other social networks or messages.
Important Notes:
- Reposting is only possible if the original creator's account is public or if you follow them.
- Some creators may restrict sharing or downloading of their Reels.
- Always credit the original creator when reposting someone else's content to respect copyright and community guidelines.
