To measure distance on Google Maps: On a computer:
- Open Google Maps in a web browser.
- Right-click a starting point on the map and select "Measure distance."
- Click another point to see the distance between the two points.
- Click additional points to measure total distance along a path.
- The cumulative distance will show in a popup at the bottom.
- To finish, click the "X" to close the popup.
On a mobile device (iPhone or Android):
- Open the Google Maps app.
- Tap and hold a location to drop a red pin.
- Tap the pin's pop-up and choose "Measure distance."
- Move the map so the target is on the next point you want to measure.
- Tap "Add point" to add more points and update the distance.
- When done, tap the back arrow at the top left.
This enables measuring straight-line distances between any selected points on the map, useful for planning routes or estimating travel distances.
