To make smooth stone in Minecraft, follow these steps:
- Smelt Cobblestone into Stone
Place cobblestone in the top slot of a furnace and add fuel (coal, wood, etc.) in the bottom slot. Smelt the cobblestone to get regular stone
- Smelt Stone into Smooth Stone
Take the stone you just made and place it back into the furnace with fuel. Smelt the stone again to produce smooth stone
Smooth stone cannot be crafted directly in a crafting table; it must be obtained by smelting stone
. Unlike regular stone, smooth stone drops itself when mined, so you can reuse it without needing to smelt it again
. This process requires two smelting steps:
- Cobblestone → Stone
- Stone → Smooth Stone
Using multiple furnaces simultaneously can speed up production since smelting smooth stone cannot be accelerated by blast furnaces
