To link your Spotify to Instagram Notes, follow these steps:
- Make sure both your Instagram and Spotify apps are updated to the latest version.
- Open the Instagram app and go to your direct messages (DMs).
- Tap on the area to create a new Note above your DMs.
- Tap the music note icon.
- You should see an option to "Link Spotify account" at the top. Tap on it.
- Authorize Instagram to access your Spotify account by agreeing to the permissions.
- Once linked, when you create a Note, it will automatically show the song you are currently playing on Spotify.
- You can add a short text message above the song in the Note if you want.
- The Note will stay active for 24 hours and will update in real time with what you are listening to on Spotify (with some delay, refresh Instagram to see updates).
If the option to link Spotify doesn’t appear, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Instagram app; your account will not be deleted by doing this. This new feature allows your Instagram friends to see your current Spotify song in your Notes and tap to play the song on Spotify themselves, making music sharing seamless and dynamic on Instagram.
