To know if your AirPods case is charging, check the LED status light on the case:
- Location of the light :
- For AirPods 3, 4, AirPods Pro 1 & 2, and Wireless Charging Cases for AirPods 1 & 2, the status light is on the front of the case.
- For Lightning Charging Cases (AirPods 1 & 2), the light is inside the case between the AirPods slots
- Color meanings when charging :
- Amber (orange) light : The case is actively charging or has less than one full charge remaining. If AirPods are inside, they are charging too.
- Green light : The case (or AirPods if inside) is fully charged.
- No light : The case may be out of battery, not charging, or the AirPods inside are charging silently
- How to check :
- Open the lid of the case near your iPhone or iPad to see the battery status on the screen.
- When plugged into power or placed on a wireless charger, the amber light should glow solid, confirming charging.
- On iPhone or Mac, you can also see the exact battery percentage and a charging icon for the case in the Bluetooth or Batteries widget
- Additional notes :
- The light usually stays on for about 8 seconds when you open the case.
- A flashing white light means the AirPods are in pairing mode.
- A flashing amber light indicates an error and may require resetting the AirPods
In summary, a solid amber light on the AirPods case indicates it is charging, and a green light means it is fully charged. You can also verify charging status on your paired iPhone or Mac for more detailed battery info
