To join a Microsoft Teams meeting, you have several options depending on whether you have the Teams app or not, and whether you have a meeting link, ID, or calendar invite:
Joining via Meeting Link
- Click the Join the meeting now link in your email or calendar invite.
- If you have the Teams app installed, it will open automatically and take you to the meeting.
- If you don’t have the app, you can download it or choose to join via your web browser.
- You can join as a guest by entering your name if you don’t have a Teams account, or sign in if you do
Joining from Teams App Calendar
- Open the Teams app.
- Select Calendar on the left side.
- Find the meeting and click Join.
- Adjust your audio, video, and background settings on the pre-join screen.
- Click Join now to enter the meeting
Joining with Meeting ID and Passcode
- In the Teams app, go to Calendar.
- Click Join with an ID at the top.
- Enter the meeting ID and passcode found in the meeting invite.
- Click Join a meeting and then Join
Joining from a Channel or Chat
- If the meeting is in a Teams channel, you’ll see a Join button in the channel itself.
- From a group chat, select Meet now to start or join an instant meeting, then click Join
Joining on the Web Without App
- Click the meeting link.
- Choose Continue on this browser to join without downloading the app.
- Allow access to your microphone and camera.
- Enter your name if joining as a guest.
- Click Join now
Additional Notes
- If the meeting organizer has enabled a lobby, you may need to wait until admitted.
- You can customize your background and audio/video settings before joining.
- Dial-in numbers may be provided in the invite for audio-only participation
