You can hide your phone number when calling in several ways:
- *Use the dial code 67 before the number you want to call. This hides your number for that specific call only, making your caller ID show as "Private" or "Unknown." For example, dial *67 followed by the full phone number. This works on almost all phones (smartphones, landlines) and carriers
- Change your phone settings to hide your number by default.
- On Android: Open the Phone app → Settings → Calls or Call Settings → Additional Settings → Caller ID → Select "Hide number"
* On iPhone: Go to Settings → Phone → Show My Caller ID → toggle it off to hide your number on all outgoing calls
- Ask your cellular carrier to block your number by default. Some carriers allow you to set your number as private at the network level. You can call your carrier's support and request this. If you want to show your number on a per-call basis afterward, you can dial *82 before the number to unhide it
- On Samsung phones specifically: Open Phone → More options → Settings → Call → More settings → Caller ID → select "Hide Number"
These methods let you either hide your number temporarily for a single call or permanently for all outgoing calls, depending on your preference. Note that some recipients or carriers may block calls from hidden numbers.
