To hide likes on Instagram, you have several options depending on whether you want to hide likes on posts you see, on your new posts before sharing, or on posts you've already published.
How to Hide Likes on Posts You See (Others' Posts)
- Go to your Instagram profile.
- Tap the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) at the top right.
- Select Settings and Privacy.
- Scroll to Like Count.
- Turn on the toggle for Hide Like Count to hide like counts on posts you view from others
How to Hide Likes on Your New Posts Before Posting
- When creating a post, after adding your photo/video and caption, scroll down to Advanced Settings at the bottom of the screen.
- Toggle on Hide like and view counts on this post.
- Share your post as usual; likes will be hidden from others on that post
How to Hide Likes on Posts Already Published
- Go to your profile and open the post where you want to hide likes.
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the post.
- Select Hide Like Count from the menu.
- The like count will be hidden immediately on that post
Additional Notes
- There is no global setting to hide likes on all your posts at once; you must hide likes on each post individually if already published.
- When likes are hidden, instead of showing the total number, Instagram shows "Liked by [username] and others."
- This feature is available on both mobile apps (iOS and Android) and the desktop version with similar steps
