There are several ways to hang a skateboard on the wall, including with and without drilling holes:
- Using a nail or screw:
- The simplest and strongest way is to make a hole in the wall and insert a nail or screw. Since a skateboard weighs about 1.2 kg, it does not require a heavy-duty anchor.
- You can hang the board by looping a shoelace or transparent fishing line through the board's holes and resting it on the angled nail or screw in the wall.
- Using a shoelace or fishing line without drilling:
- Hang the skateboard by threading a shoelace or sturdy fishing line through the holes on the skateboard and tying it securely.
- Use a nail or adhesive hook on the wall to hang the looped lace or line.
- Fishing line is more durable and aesthetically pleasing than shoelace.
- Using adhesive hooks or strips:
- Clean the wall with alcohol, then attach an adhesive hook or heavy-duty adhesive strips rated to hold at least 1.2 kg.
- Hang the skateboard from the hook by a lace or fishing line, or attach a bracket designed for decks with double-sided tape.
- This method avoids wall damage and allows removal without holes.
- Using commercial skateboard wall mounts:
- Specialized brackets or mounts designed to hold the skateboard securely by the holes or trucks are available.
- Some mounts use screws; others use adhesive strips and double-sided tape for easy installation.
Tips:
- When using nails or screws, try to place them in studs or use drywall anchors.
- Angle the nail slightly upward so the lace or wire doesn't slip off.
- Let adhesive hooks or strips cure for the time recommended by the manufacturer before hanging the board.
This gives flexibility to choose based on whether drilling is allowed, appearance preferences, and how permanent the installation should be.
