You can get water in Stranded Deep in a few early-game and long-term ways.
Fast early-game water
The quickest way at the start is coconuts from palm trees.
- Pick a coconut, drop it on the ground, and hit it with a tool until it becomes a “drinking coconut”, then drink it once. Over‑drinking or eating too many coconuts can upset your character’s stomach.
- Rations from the starting liferaft also restore both food and water, so save them for emergencies.
Best long-term water source
The main sustainable source is the Water Still, unlocked at crafting level 2.
- To craft a Water Still you need: 3 rocks, 1 cloth, 1 lashing, 1 palm frond, and 1 coconut flask (made from 1 coconut + 1 lashing).
- Place the still, then load the “fuel” slot with palm fronds or fibrous leaves; over time it generates drinkable water charges you can sip by interacting with the top.
Extra tips
- Build at least two Water Stills so you have enough water to go from nearly empty to full when it rains or over time.
- Check your thirst meter often and stay in the shade during midday so you lose water more slowly.
