To get Shakespeare in the Park tickets, there are several main ways:
- Line Up at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park
Tickets are given out for free on a first-come, first-served basis starting at noon on show days. The park opens at 6 AM, and dedicated fans often line up very early (even camping out) to secure tickets. Tickets are limited to two per person, and seats are assigned randomly, not by position in line. There is also a standby line on the night of the show for unclaimed tickets.

You can enter a digital lottery for tickets on the day of the performance between midnight and noon using the TodayTix app. Winners are notified between noon and 3 PM and must confirm their tickets within 30 minutes. Tickets can be picked up at the Delacorte Theater between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
- In-Person Lottery at the Public Theater downtown
On show days, you can enter the in-person lottery at the Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street) starting at 11 AM, with the drawing at noon. Winners receive vouchers to exchange for tickets at the Delacorte Theater.
- Ticket Vouchers Distributed in Outer Boroughs
On select days, the Public Theater distributes ticket vouchers at various borough locations around New York between 12 PM and 2 PM. These vouchers are exchanged for tickets at the Delacorte.
- By Donation
You can guarantee tickets by making a tax-deductible donation to the Public Theater ($300 for one ticket, $600 for two).
