To forget a network on a Mac, follow these steps: For macOS Ventura or later:
- Click the Apple menu and select System Settings.
- Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar.
- To forget the network you're currently connected to, click Details next to it, then choose Forget This Network and confirm by clicking Remove.
- To forget a network you joined before but aren't currently connected to, scroll down and click Advanced to see known networks. Click the three-dot icon next to the network, select Remove From List, and then confirm by clicking Forget.
For earlier versions of macOS:
- Click the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
- Click Network and choose Wi-Fi in the sidebar.
- Click Advanced to see known networks.
- Select the network you want to forget, then click the minus (-) button and confirm by clicking Remove.
- Click OK and then Apply to save changes.
You can also toggle off Auto-Join for a network to keep the password but stop automatic connection. Advanced users can use Keychain Access or Terminal commands to remove networks, but the above methods are the most straightforward for most users.
