To make a call with no caller ID (hide your phone number) on your phone, you can use several methods depending on your device and carrier:
On Android Phones
Quick method for a single call:
- Dial *67 before the phone number you want to call. This will block your caller ID for that call only, and the recipient will see "Private" or "Blocked"
Permanent method via phone settings:
- Open the Phone app.
- Go to Settings > Calls or Supplementary Services.
- Find Caller ID settings and select "Hide number" or "Never" to block your number on all outgoing calls.
- To show your number again for a specific call, dial *82 before the number
Carrier assistance:
- Some carriers offer apps or services to block your caller ID on all calls. Contact your carrier if the above options don’t work
On iPhone
- Go to Settings > Phone.
- Tap "Show My Caller ID" and turn it off.
- If you don’t see this option, your carrier may not support hiding caller ID
Additional Notes
- Blocking caller ID does not work when calling emergency numbers or toll-free numbers.
