To cross-list courses in Canvas, follow these steps:

1. Choose the "parent" course into which other courses will be combined. This is typically the course with the lowest Course Reference Number (CRN) or SIS ID.
2. Get the parent course's SIS ID or CRN by going to the Settings of that course.
3. For each course you want to cross-list into the parent course (called child courses), go to that course's Settings.
4. Click on the Sections tab.
5. Select the section to cross-list.
6. Click the "Cross-list This Section" button.
7. In the search box that appears, type and select the parent course's SIS ID or CRN carefully from the dropdown list.
8. Click the confirmation button to complete the cross-listing.
9. The child course section will now appear within the parent course, sharing the same content and enrollments.

Important notes:

• Cross-list courses before students submit any work to avoid losing submission and grade data.
• Sections can only belong to one course at a time.
