To clear the cache on your Xbox One, follow these steps:
- Shut down the console completely by pressing and holding the power button on the front of the Xbox One for about 10 seconds until it turns off fully.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the console and from the power outlet to disconnect it from power.
- Discharge residual power by waiting at least one minute, then press and hold the power button on the console several times to drain any remaining power.
- Reconnect the power cord to the console and the power outlet.
- Turn on the console by pressing the power button. If you have the original Xbox One, wait for the power brick light to turn from white to orange before powering on. For Xbox One S or X, you can power on immediately.
This process clears the temporary cache data stored by games and apps, which can improve system performance and resolve loading issues. It does not delete your saved games or personal data
. Additionally, you can clear Blu-ray persistent storage cache by going to Settings > Devices & connections > Blu-ray > Persistent storage, and selecting "Clear persistent storage"
. If clearing the cache this way does not resolve issues, a soft factory reset (which keeps games and apps but resets settings) may be necessary
