To clear the cache in Google Chrome, follow these steps:
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click the Menu icon (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner.
- Select History , then click Clear browsing data.
- In the dialog box, set the Time range to All time to clear everything.
- Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files. You may also check Browsing history if you want to clear that.
- Click Clear data.
- Close and restart Chrome to apply the changes.
Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Delete (or Command + Shift + Delete on Mac) to open the Clear browsing data window directly
. For more control, you can go to Settings > Privacy and security > Site Settings > Additional content settings > On-device Site Data and enable the option to delete site data when you close Chrome, which helps prevent caching errors
. This process frees up space, fixes website loading issues, and improves browser performance.
