To add and use screen recording on your iPhone, follow these steps:
How to Add Screen Recording to Control Center
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap Control Center.
- Under More Controls , find Screen Recording.
- Tap the green plus (+) button next to Screen Recording to add it to your Control Center
How to Start a Screen Recording
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
- Tap the Screen Recording button (a circle within a circle). It will start a 3-second countdown before recording begins.
- The status bar or the time indicator at the top of your screen will turn red, indicating that recording is active
How to Record with Sound (Microphone Audio)
- Instead of just tapping, press and hold (or long-press) the Screen Recording button in Control Center.
- Tap the Microphone icon to turn audio recording on or off.
- Tap Start Recording to begin with microphone audio enabled.
- The microphone icon will turn red when audio is being recorded
How to Stop Recording
- Tap the red status bar or the red time indicator at the top of your screen and confirm to stop.
- Or open Control Center again and tap the Screen Recording button to stop.
- The video will be saved automatically to your Photos app
Additional Notes
- Some apps may restrict screen recording or audio capture.
- You cannot record your screen while using screen mirroring.
- By default, recordings save to the Photos app, but some devices or iOS versions may allow choosing a different save location
