To add money to Cash App, there are two primary methods:
- Add money from your linked bank account or debit card:
- Open Cash App and go to the Money tab.
- Tap "Add Money."
- Choose or enter an amount.
- Confirm with your PIN or biometrics to transfer funds from your bank/debit card to your Cash App balance.
- Deposit paper cash at a participating retail store:
- Open Cash App and go to the "Deposit Paper Money" or similar option.
- Find a nearby participating store such as Walmart, CVS, 7-Eleven, or Dollar General.
- Generate a barcode in the app; only generate it once you arrive at the store.
- Show the barcode to the cashier and hand over the cash plus a $1 service fee.
- The funds usually appear in your Cash App balance instantly or within a few minutes.
Additional notes:
- Minimum cash deposit is typically $5, maximum around $500 per transaction.
- You must have a Cash App Cash Card to use the paper cash deposit feature.
- Adding cash from a bank account does not typically incur fees.
- Paper cash deposits incur a $1 fee per transaction at stores.
