To add a beneficiary in HDFC Bank for transferring funds, you can follow these steps either via NetBanking or the Mobile Banking app:

1. Log in to your HDFC Bank NetBanking account using your Customer ID and password or open the HDFC Mobile Banking app and log in.
2. Navigate to the Funds Transfer tab.
3. Click on 'Request' and then select 'Add a Beneficiary'.
4. Choose the beneficiary type:
   • For transfers within HDFC Bank accounts, select "Transfer within HDFC Bank".
   • For transfers to other banks, select "Transfer to other bank (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS)".
5. Enter the beneficiary details such as:
   • Beneficiary’s name as per their bank account
   • Bank account number
   • IFSC code of the beneficiary’s branch
   • Contact details like phone number
6. Submit the details. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email. Enter the OTP to authenticate and confirm the addition.
7. The bank usually takes about 30 minutes to approve and activate the beneficiary.
8. Once approved, you can start transferring money to the beneficiary. Note that for newly added beneficiaries, there is a transfer limit of Rs. 50,000 in the first 24 hours for security reasons. After that, the usual transfer limits apply
