The Freedom Tower, also known as One World Trade Center, is 1,776 feet (541.3 meters) tall including its spire. This height was chosen to symbolize the year 1776, when the United States Declaration of Independence was signed. Without the spire, the building stands at 1,368 feet (417 meters), the same height as the original North Tower of the World Trade Center. It is the tallest building in the United States and the Western Hemisphere.
