Nausea in pregnancy, often called morning sickness, typically starts around the 4th to 6th week of pregnancy. It usually begins about two weeks after the first missed period. For most women, nausea peaks between weeks 8 to 11 and generally fades by the end of the first trimester, around 14 weeks. However, some women may experience nausea as early as the 4th week or as late as the 7th week, and in some cases, it can persist into the second or even third trimester. The severity and timing of nausea vary from person to person. Despite its name, morning sickness can happen at any time of day or night and is very common, affecting at least 70% of pregnant women.
