how often are super blue moons

A super blue moon, which combines a supermoon and a blue moon, occurs roughly once every 10 years on average, though it can be as infrequent as once in 20 years. Supermoons on their own happen three to four times a year, but blue moons, defined as either the second full moon in a calendar month or the third of four full moons in a season, occur every two to three years. The coincidence of both events, creating a super blue moon, is quite rare. The next predicted super blue moons will happen in 2032 (seasonal blue moon) and a pair in January and March 2037 (monthly blue moons).
