To measure bra size accurately, follow these steps:
- Measure your band size:
- Wear a non-padded bra or no bra.
- Use a measuring tape to measure around your back, just under your shoulder blades, and where the band of the bra sits.
- The tape should be level and snug but comfortable, allowing you to fit two fingers underneath.
- If you get an odd number or a fraction, round up to the nearest even number. This number is your band size.
- Measure your bust size:
- With the tape still around your back, measure over the fullest part of your bust.
- The tape should just skim the bra or your bust without pressing in.
- Record this measurement.
- Calculate your cup size:
- Subtract your band size from your bust measurement.
- The difference corresponds to your cup size: 1 inch = A, 2 inches = B, 3 inches = C, 4 inches = D, 5 inches = DD, and so on.
- Combine band size and cup size to get your bra size. For example, a band measurement of 34 inches and a bust measurement of 37 inches would result in a bra size of 34C.
It is recommended to measure your bra size every 6 to 12 months to ensure comfort and support, as body shape can change over time.
