In Starfield, the maximum number of ships a player can own at one time is 10. This includes all ships bought or stolen. However, ships obtained as rewards from quests do not count towards this limit, allowing for a possibility to exceed the 10-ship limit slightly through quest rewards. Among the ships owned, one must be designated as the "Home Ship," which is the primary ship where crew members are stationed. To get a new ship beyond the limit, the player must sell one or more existing ships at a spaceport technician. Importantly, the starting ship called Frontier cannot be sold.
