Three U.S. presidents have been formally impeached by the House of Representatives:
- Andrew Johnson in 1868
- Bill Clinton in 1998
- Donald Trump, who was impeached twice, in 2019 and 2021
None of these impeachments resulted in conviction by the Senate, so none of these presidents were removed from office
