how many people have walked on the moon

Twelve people have walked on the Moon. All of them were American men who participated in NASA's Apollo missions between 1969 and 1972. The first person to walk on the Moon was Neil Armstrong, and the last was Gene Cernan. Since then, no one has walked on the Moon, but future Moonwalkers are planned in upcoming NASA Artemis missions.
