Alexander Hamilton had eight children with his wife Eliza Schuyler Hamilton. Their children were:

- Alexander Hamilton Jr. (1786–1875)
- James Alexander Hamilton (1788–1878)
- John Church Hamilton (1792–1882)
- William Stephen Hamilton (1797–1850)
- Eliza Hamilton Holly (1799–1859)
- Philip Hamilton II (1802–1884), named after his elder deceased brother
These eight children included six sons and two daughters. Several of them went on to have notable lives and careers, with some following in their father's footsteps in law and public service
