The Mariana Trench is about 36,037 feet (10,984 meters) deep at its deepest point, known as Challenger Deep. Some measurements suggest depths close to 36,070 feet (10,994 meters), but around 36,000 feet is the widely accepted figure for the trench's maximum depth.
