The NFL Draft lasts for three days. It typically takes place from Thursday through Saturday each spring. The schedule is as follows:
- Thursday: Round 1 only, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, with each team having 10 minutes to make its pick.
- Friday: Rounds 2 and 3, with teams having 7 minutes for picks in Round 2 and 5 minutes in Round 3.
- Saturday: Rounds 4 through 7, with 5 minutes per pick in Rounds 4-6 and 4 minutes in Round 7
This three-day format has been in place since 2010 to allow teams adequate time to make selections and conduct trades.
