As of 2024, the Black population in the United States is estimated to be about 51.6 million people, which represents approximately 15.2% of the total U.S. population of 340.1 million. This number includes those who identify as Black alone as well as those who identify as Black in combination with another race. The non-Hispanic Black alone population is around 43.1 million, or 12.7% of the total population. Growth is particularly strong among multiracial and Hispanic-identifying Black populations.
