how many amendments are there

There are 27 amendments to the United States Constitution. The first 10 amendments are known collectively as the Bill of Rights, ratified in 1791. Since then, 17 additional amendments have been ratified, covering a wide range of issues such as voting rights, presidential term limits, and congressional pay.
