The AP Physics 1 exam is 3 hours long in total. It consists of two sections:
- Multiple-Choice section: 90 minutes
- Free-Response section: 90 minutes
This totals to 3 hours for the entire exam
. Note that starting in the 2024-2025 school year, the multiple-choice section will be 80 minutes and the free-response section 100 minutes, but the total exam time remains 3 hours
