The AP Macroeconomics exam is 2 hours and 10 minutes long in total. It consists of two sections:
- Section I: Multiple-Choice
- 60 questions
- 70 minutes (1 hour and 10 minutes)
- Accounts for 66% of the exam score
- Section II: Free-Response
- 3 questions (1 long free-response and 2 short free-response)
- 60 minutes total, which includes a 10-minute reading period
- Accounts for 33% of the exam score
A four-function calculator is allowed on both sections. The exam tests knowledge of economic concepts, principles, models, and the ability to analyze economic situations using graphs and calculations
